Due to rising international aviation fuel prices, Taiwan-based airlines are raising fuel surcharges for international routes starting September 7; rates for short-haul and long-haul flights will increase to $32.50 and $84.50, respectively.
With the recent rise in aviation fuel prices, passenger fuel surcharges for the international routes of Taiwan-based airlines will increase effective September 7: short-haul rates will rise from $30.00 to $32.50, and long-haul rates from $78.00 to $84.50.
To reasonably safeguard consumer interests, the vast majority of airlines worldwide use fuel surcharges to manage costs on international routes. Since 2004, Taiwan has employed a standardized formula that reviews the posted international aviation fuel prices from CPC Corporation at the beginning of each month to determine separate charges for short-haul and long-haul routes.
